When Lord Jesus talks about being the “faithful and wise servant”, what do these words mean to you? It is so wonderful to know every second that Lord Jesus is your own personal saviour. He only wants the best for you. He came to bring you “life in abundance”! (John 10:10) He also says “If you love me you will obey my commands” (John 14:15) What is Lord Jesus expecting of each of us? If we want to truly live the life He has come to bring us, what is our part of this relationship and journey? What do we have to do to receive “life in abundance”. If we do not really have any kind of relationship with Lord Jesus, how can we expect to be able to be a “faithful and wise servant”? How will we know what to do to be the servant Lord Jesus is expecting us to be, if we don’t know what He said in the Gospels and we never speak with Him? We need to be living every second in the awakeness of “the truth” which He is and know that we have no idea of when He is returning. We are told by Him to be on our guard. He said, “but as for that day or hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Matthew 24:36).
