16 – Are you truly “open” to Lord Jesus, or are you still holding back in any way?

There are places in the Gospels which refer to a person’s eyes or ears being “opened” by Lord Jesus and that person received their sight or their hearing. It is also written that a person asked Lord Jesus if He was “willing” would he heal the person. The man “opened” and was healed of leprosy. The word “open” appears quite often in the Gospels.

Lord Jesus is the most famous “healer” in the history of the world. How did He heal people? Do you need healing in any way? If you are not “open” to the miraculous power of God through Lord Jesus to heal people of so-called “incurable” diseases, how easy will it be for you to be healed?

How much of the receiving of healing is our own responsibility? If we do not have an “open” mind to Lord Jesus, what are we doing believing that we are any kind of Christians? It is a very important subject to look at in ourselves very deeply in relation to our Lord Jesus and what we are doing or not doing that He actually is commanding us to do.

How open are you to really receive the miracles which are possible with God? Lord Jesus did so much to heal, help and instruct any person who will listen, but He is expecting us to put into practice what He is teaching and follow His example.

How much more is possible for us to be doing in this world to be healed by Lord Jesus ourselves of past traumas, hurts and pain caused to us by the world, and then be able to help and heal others in His name? “There are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they would all be written, … that even the world itself wouldn’t have room for the books that would be written. John 21:25

So great for us to realise this every day and never grow complacent! It is so important for us to remain vigilant in our obedience of His commands. He says if you “love me” you will “obey my commands”. John 14:15. My experience since becoming a Christian in 1995 is that as I obey the commands of Lord Jesus every day, miracles happen every day!

Let’s all work together to let our lights shine and bring the light of our Lord Jesus Christ out to shine in the darkness of the world! God bless you, share the love of our Lord Jesus, until next time, keep shining, love Kelly Newton-Wordsworth

15 – How are you going today in your walk with God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

Coming with Lord Jesus is a 24 hour a day journey forever. This morning I was listening to the parable of the “sower” and Lord Jesus speaks about the different “types” of people who hear the “word” and the way in which they respond. He speaks of the different kinds of “ground” that the seeds fall upon and what happens to those seeds depending upon the ground on which they fall. (Have a look at Matthew 13:1–23, Mark 4:1–20, and Luke 8:4–15.) In reality He is talking about the people who hear His words and take very different paths after hearing them. Which path are you on? If you love Lord Jesus but you are a person who is consumed by the “worries of this world” it is time to take some time out with Him and be very real with the WAY you are responding to His every word. If He arrived in ten minutes for a meeting with you, what would He be saying to you, would you be “wheat or chaff”. If you really don’t know, start asking our Father, Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit to help you. Share the love of our Lord Jesus who died for every person to be set free from sin and live “life in abundance” (John 10:10), Kelly Newton-Wordsworth

14 -Would you really drop your “nets” and follow Jesus?

“As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will make you fishers of men.’ At once they left their nets and followed him. (Mark 1:16-18) If you were standing fishing by the sea and you made your “living” from fishing, would you leave behind what you would see, at that moment, as your “livelihood” and come with someone you had never seen in your life?

This is a wonderful question to ask in prayer. You can sit and ask Lord Jesus to help you with the answer. It is truly great to “get real” with yourself, take the “plank out of your eye” and see how much you trust Lord Jesus in your own daily life. This will also give a great appreciation of the power and clarity of Lord Jesus. Why would these men, Simon and Andrew simply walk away from their livelihood and the life they knew, to go with a total stranger?

Lord Jesus must have exuded enormous power to have had this result. He is as He says “THE LIFE”, so any person who leaves behind their old life for Him will gain a totally NEW LIFE which goes forever! In this ‘Breaky with Jesus’ I share part of a new song I have written, “Come follow me”, to help the listener to really imagine what it would be like to be in the shoes of Simon and Andrew.

Well over 2,000 years after these men left everything they knew, owned and the life they once had, to come and follow Lord Jesus, it is in a way much easier for us. If we come from a nation founded on the work of Lord Jesus, we know about Him from the time we are children. Even if people around us are not Christians, or we are not from a Christian family or background, Christmas and Easter are annual events throughout our nation, so we have the opportunity to ask people what this day is all about.

In nations which have not been founded with Christian principles at the core, it may be much harder for people to even know about Him. I lived in a nation for two years, where Easter came and went without any evidence that it existed. Initially this was quite a shock to me, as I grew up in Australia where Easter is being advertised at least one and a half months before it occurs in many different ways. Christmas was celebrated in that nation I stayed in for two years, but it was much more of a display of Christmas trees, reindeer and elves rather than sighting any Christian symbols.

Even before I became a Christian, I still knew about Lord Jesus. I knew about Him from the time I can remember. When I was offered the opportunity to “come follow Him” ( the second time, the first time I was too cool for school!) I grabbed it with both hands, dropped my “nets” and followed Him. I do not know whether thousands of words could express how grateful I am to have been given a second chance to come with Him. The difference coming with Him every second makes to my life is way beyond words. He brings me the “WAY” the “TRUTH” and the “LIFE”, as that is who and what He is! He brings with His words and His presence, worlds within worlds to explore.

If you are a fan of “The Hobbit” by Tolkien, coming with Him is way more than “An Unexpected Journey”, it is a never ending journey at the highest level, bringing one to know God more intimately every day. Jesus has brought me to adventures way beyond what I could ever have imagined!

To imagine though, what it would have been like before Lord Jesus was famous and many people knew Him, if He came to you, would you have come? What would it have been like to have Him come and speak to you? How would you have felt. This is really exciting to imagine. The first time I was ever told about Lord Jesus, I could feel my heart beating in my chest. I was at university studying law and was with my boyfriend who is now my wonderful husband William. I felt so drawn to come to Lord Jesus, but when the person telling me told me I had to go to a church I had never heard of and drive to a district which was out of my “comfort zone” (only about 25minutes drive from where I lived), I felt myself withdrawing. There must be quite a lot of laughing about this in heaven, as since becoming a Christian, I have been so “taken” by God out of my comfort zone, traveling around the world alone, going wherever I have been called by Him to go.

It is quite hard in a way to imagine what it would have been like to have a person come up to you and say, “Come follow me”. “I will make you fishers of men”. Over 2,000 years after Lord Jesus said these words, we know a lot more about him than Simon and Andrew obviously knew meeting Him for the first time. I could believe about myself that I would run after Him, but in reality when a man told me about Jesus the first time, I was suspicious even though I had heard about Lord Jesus all of my life. At that point in time, for me, I had never heard of a Christian. There were only Catholics, Anglicans, Presbyterians and so on. When this man told me He had met “Jesus” I was shocked. He had been a bit of a surfer, taking lots of drugs and getting “wasted” a lot. When William and I saw him, we said, “What happened to you? You look so different.” He told us he had “met Jesus”! I am so shocked now that I did not go to the church he told us to go to where he had met Jesus.

Now of course I would run so fast to meet Him because I have known Him and loved Him now for 25 years. If you really know Lord Jesus intimately then of course you know you would follow Him anywhere, wherever He goes, you will go. If you do not know Lord Jesus you may be much less likely to simply trust Him one hundred percent with your life.

It is a great start to come before Him and give Him all of yourself, as He is the Son of the Most High God. However, this may be very difficult if you are a person who has problems with trusting anyone. As Lord Jesus is the “corner stone” it is such a huge help and relief to start with Him in the “corner” and move outwards from there! Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures?’The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’ (Matthew 21: 42) When you come with Lord Jesus as soon as He calls you, you will be blessed and blessed and blessed! God Bless you, come with Jesus and share His love, Kelly Newton-Wordsworth

13 – Are you really a faithful and wise servant? Matthew 24:45

When Lord Jesus talks about being the “faithful and wise servant”, what do these words mean to you? It is so wonderful to know every second that Lord Jesus is your own personal saviour. He only wants the best for you. He came to bring you “life in abundance”! (John 10:10) He also says “If you love me you will obey my commands” (John 14:15) What is Lord Jesus expecting of each of us? If we want to truly live the life He has come to bring us, what is our part of this relationship and journey? What do we have to do to receive “life in abundance”. If we do not really have any kind of relationship with Lord Jesus, how can we expect to be able to be a “faithful and wise servant”? How will we know what to do to be the servant Lord Jesus is expecting us to be, if we don’t know what He said in the Gospels and we never speak with Him? We need to be living every second in the awakeness of “the truth” which He is and know that we have no idea of when He is returning. We are told by Him to be on our guard. He said, “but as for that day or hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Matthew 24:36). The time to really start being a “faithful and wise servant” if you haven’t already, is right NOW! Kelly Newton-Wordsworth

12 – How important is every word Lord Jesus spoke over 2,000 years ago?

Jesus said over 2,000 years ago, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35) What do these words mean to you? How important are the words of Lord Jesus to the whole world? There are many Christians I have met all over the world, who when I have been speaking about certain commands Lord Jesus said we must do, their eyes have gone a little glazed over and sometimes they have looked away.

When I have asked them about this, they have said that they have “never read the Holy Bible” or they don’t really know His words. If you are a “Christian” and do not know the words of our Lord Jesus, what is this saying to you about your relationship with Jesus? How can you follow someone and not know what they even say, said or stand for in this world?

Jesus said “You are in error because you do not know the scriptures or the power of God! (Matthew 22:29) Who was He speaking to? When He spoke about the “scriptures” He was referring to the “Old Testament”. If He is saying people are “in error” for not knowing the scriptures or the “power of God”, what would He say to people who have come in His name and do not know His words and He is the Son of God?

It is so important to start learning every word Lord Jesus spoke while He was walking on this earth. How do I know this? He said so! He said if we love Him, “we will obey His commands”. (John 14:15) If you do not know His “commands” How can you obey them? (Kelly Newton-Wordsworth)
